How accurate is the calculated value?
The calculator uses the current 24K base rate and standard purity factors (24K = 100%, 22K = 91.67%, 21K = 87.5%, 18K = 75%) to produce an estimate. Actual jeweller prices may differ slightly due to making charges, taxes and dealer margins.
Can I calculate the value of mixed-purity jewellery?
Run the calculator separately for each purity component, using the actual weight of each part, then add the results together for a combined estimate.
What conversion factors does the calculator use?
It uses 1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams and 1 tola = 11.6638 grams, along with standard purity percentages, to convert between units and karats accurately.
