How is Zakat on Gold Calculated?

Zakat is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, requiring Muslims to donate a portion of their wealth to those in need. For gold, Zakat becomes obligatory only if the total amount of gold you own meets or exceeds the Nisab threshold.

The Nisab for Gold: 87.48 grams or 7.5 Tolas.
The Rate of Zakat: 2.5% of the total current market value of the gold.
