How is Zakat on Gold Calculated?

Zakat is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, requiring Muslims to donate a portion of their wealth to those in need. For gold, Zakat becomes obligatory only if the total amount of gold you own meets or exceeds the Nisab threshold.

  • The Nisab for Gold: 87.48 grams or 7.5 Tolas.
  • The Rate of Zakat: 2.5% of the total current market value of the gold.
