Gold Savings Planner

Saving month by month — kameti style — for a tola? At today's 24K rate of Rs 422,031/tola, here's your roadmap.

Kameti payouts and gold

Many Pakistani households buy gold with a committee (kameti) payout — one lump sum instead of many small purchases. That avoids repeated making charges, though it concentrates your entry at a single day's price. Whichever route you take, buy from established dealers (see our jeweller directory) and prefer coins or bars for savings — jewellery making charges don't come back at resale.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the gold savings planner work?

Enter what you can set aside each month and a target in tolas. The planner divides the target's cost at today's 24K rate by your monthly amount to estimate the months required, and shows how many grams each month's saving buys.

What is a kameti (committee) and how does gold fit in?

A kameti is an informal rotating savings group common in Pakistan: members contribute monthly and each takes the pooled amount in turn. Many families use their kameti payout to buy gold in one go — this planner shows what that payout buys at today's rate.

Should I buy a little gold every month or wait and buy at once?

Buying small amounts regularly (rupee-cost averaging) smooths out price swings, but small jewellery purchases carry proportionally higher making charges. Coins or bars in gram sizes usually work better for monthly accumulation.

Does the planner account for gold price changes?

No — it uses today's rate as a fixed reference. If gold rises while you save, you will need longer; if it falls, less. Treat the result as a planning estimate, not a promise.
